This website is an online exhibition for the minor course Arts, Tourism and Discourse. It has been created by Nina de Groot, a fourth year International Tourism and Travel Industries student of Breda University of Applied Sciences.
The theme of this online exhibition is The Everyday. All chosen art pieces are related to this theme, addressing what is currently going on in the world. The artists that created these pieces, all have a critical way of thinking on these current events. The events addressed in the exhibition are mainly political and social difficulties, on a worldwide level. The artists address make use of different forms of media, ranging from paintings to music videos, to express their views and perspectives. I have chosen different forms of media to show the diversity of the exhibition and the diversity of artists worldwide.
The exhibition consists of nine art pieces in total, of which two are abstract pieces and one press photo. The explanation of each piece and its relation to the theme can be found in each blogpost.
